FT Nanny Needed in Charlottesville, VA
Full Time Career Nanny Needed for Special Needs Children
A warm, involved family of four is seeking an experienced full-time career nanny to provide consistent, long-term care for their two young children. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional nanny who is serious about making childcare a career and has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent children and families.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30AM-5:30PM.
The family’s oldest child is a six-year-old with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder who is highly active, sensory-seeking, and benefits from confident, patient, and consistent caregiving. He requires assistance with some activities of daily living, including dressing and bathing. His younger sibling is a bright and inquisitive four-year-old with sensory sensitivities who requires cognitive stimulation. The oldest child has an additional caregiver in the afternoons, and the nanny will not be required to care for both children entirely at the same time. Interested candidates should be comfortable collaborating with other caregivers.
Duties: The nanny must be comfortable safely transporting both children to and from their respective schools. Prepare for the afternoon by completing the children’s laundry, tidying their spaces, preparing meals, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and handling other child-related household responsibilities. The family employs a weekly cleaning service, so deep household cleaning is not expected.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, proactive, and experienced career nanny who is interested in building a long-term relationship with a neurodivergent family. Candidates should be comfortable taking initiative, anticipating the children’s needs, collaborating with parents and other caregivers.
